Brittany pics this brittany here is her bio DREAMING IN COLOR BIO At 16, Brittany Hargest is the youngest of the group, with quite possibly the biggest personality. She can talk 100 miles-a-minute (well, not really… but close!) and when she lands on a topic that really excites her she’s like a balloon full of energy that’s about to burst. Her dedication to hard work started at the early age of two when she first began to explore her creative side. Since then, she’s studied voice, piano, guitar, dance and gymnastics—all of which has resulted in the powerful performing artist she is today. Her friends will use the adjectives “hyper,” “bouncy” and “cheerful” to describe Brittany, but believe it or not she does have a more contemplative side that loves rainy days. “I love to just light candles and read a good book sometimes.” Always full of surprises, Brittany loves her favorite cowboy hat (but doesn’t like country music), is a picky eater (don’t let her foods touch and please don’t give her a hamburger!), likes music with an alternative flair and (okay, this is really no surprise) loves talking to her friends. How’s that cell phone bill, Brittany? ACCELERATE BIO She's the youngest and the smallest of the group, but don't let that fool you. Brittany Hargest, 15, can take whatever her fellow J5'ers can dish out. And it's no wonder. She's been showing the world what she can do since the age of two, studying voice, piano, guitar, dance and gymnastics. And today, due to her hard work and determination, she is an incredible, passionate performing artist. The one thing she hasn't managed yet-thankfully-is a diva attitude. There's not an ounce of prima Dona in her. "I'm so normal, it's scary," she says. "I have a mouth full of braces-the clear kind, though, so it's not too bad-I love to shop, and I do chores. I clean toilets!" She also has a dog, Jumper, "who makes me very happy," and a very vocal desire to tour internationally. "France, anyone?" ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD BIO Talk about a quick study. Brittany Hargest took up singing and dance lessons at the tender age of two, and almost immediately began appearing in commercials and music videos. Like her group mates, Brittany studied voice, piano, guitar, gymnastics, and dance, becoming in time a seasoned stage presence. "Performing gives me a rush," she says. "It creates this huge amount of energy." Being in Jump5 has meant dealing with the whirlwind of success, but it's been made easier for Brittany because of the closeness the group members share. "We work together well," she notes, "because we've known each other forever." As for having a brother in the group, she says, " I get to have part of my family traveling around with me. But Brandon isn't overprotective." Brittany enjoys other pursuits beyond music, including fashion design and interior decorating. But her main message to kids is remarkably sophisticated for a 14-year-old: "As a kid, don't take life for granted," she says. "Have fun with every moment of your life. Don't take things too seriously. And always be yourself." Ironically, this natural talent wasn't really into music growing up. "I loved singing myself, but wasn't a huge fan of music," she explains. Instead, her passion was dancing and acting. Almost immediately after starting dance lessons at age 3, she was doing commercials and strutting her stuff in music videos. "Performing gives me a rush," she says. Brittany took up singing lessons at age 5, and a year later landed a part in the A Country Christmas at the star-launching theme park Opryland USA, where she affectionately became know as "Injury Girl." "Something happened to me during almost every show," she laughs. "I fell in the pit, got hit by balls on stage, got knocked off a barrel I was standing on-you name it." Believe it or not, she's not embarrassed about any of it. Ask her group-mates and they'll tell you this energetic entertainer is the member most likely to make a scene. "She will do anything to get attention," Libby laughs. AT HOME AND FAMILY Brittany's parents are Greb and Robin Hargest. Brittany says that her Mom and Dad have always inspired her to do the best that I can. "To watch them work so hard and sacrifice so much for me is so incredible that I am trying to repay the favor!" She has one brother, Brandon, who is also in the group, Jump5. Brittany says it's fun to have her brother in the group because they get to be with each other and do everything together. She says it's like having a piece of home come with her. Brittany and Brandon are only one year apart. She has a dog Jumper (He is a West Highland Terrier and Poodle mix. Brandon and Brittany got him on the day their debut album (Jump5) was released. That's how he got his name, Jumper!) She also had another dog, Kibbles, (mixed Terrier) but he died. She likes hanging out with friends. She loves shoe shopping. Brittany hates cleaning the pool after her dad mows the lawn. Her favorite activities include- acting, playing piano, gymnastics, swimming, reading, writing, and having fun! DRIVING Brittany does not have her drivers liscense yet. Brittany says she is too scared to drive and is not even taking driver's ed yet. She won't even drive a go-cart. Brittany's dream car is an Escalade or Mercedes. ON TOUR/JUMP5 RELATED She sung "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" for the Jump5 audition. She like to perform "God Bless The USA". Brittany prefers too sing live. She likes to wear a ring from her dad and a lollipop ring to remind her of home. Her favorite fan gift was a scrapbook with letters, pictures, and drawings. Brittany says the funnest place she went on tour was Disney World. Brittany co-wrote the song "Feels Like Falling" on Dreaming In Color releasing September 21, 2004. Brittany injured her ankle during the "Spinnin' Around" music video shoot. When Jump5 first head one of their song on the radio, Libby got so excited that she grabbed Brittany's arm and gave Brittany nail marks for a week. Brittany likes being the youngest in Jump5. Brittany has the highest voice in Jump5. Brittan's favorite groups that Jump5 have performed with are Play and LMNT. Brittany's favorite song to perform is We Are Family. "It is so much fun to dance to and it's also fun to watch the audience reaction. The crowd just starts jumping around and singing along!" OTHER FACTS Besides singing and dancing, Brittany likes to do gymnastics, as well as pratice playing the piano. She has been dancing since she was 3 and singing since she was 5. Brittany learned an ariel when she was around 7. Her musical influences are Jessica Simpson and Destiny's Child. Brittany and her brother Brandon have been in comercials together. She used to have hair like Topanga (Boy Meets World) but she cut it for a photo shoot! When Brittany first met Aaron Carter she had chocolate on her chin. If she had to live in a foreign county she said she would pick either China or France. Brittany's celebrity crushes are Adam Brody, Orlando Bloom, Freddie Prinze Jr, and Forbrizio Moretti. Brittany said the one food she could eat all day long is junk food. Brittany's hidden talent is she can hang a spoon off her nose. If Brittany could record with anyone, it would be Aretha Franklin, because she has an incredibly powerful voice, and Brittany would love to learn from her. Brittany was on many videos when she was younger, including: The Adventures of Prayer Bear "Best Friends", "Bible Break", "The Sing-Along Bible Song Show", and "Just Have Fun". Brittany says the best thing she ever did was start singing and dancing. Brittany says the worst thing she ever did was gossip about people even when she knows she's doing it. (On All The Time In The World) fav things in the bible BRITTANY My favorite devotional is on page 671 where it talks about God as our heavenly father, as David put it, out Shepherd. He won't let anything happen to us. We can depend on him. But are we listening to his direction? Do we trust him completely? If the answer is yes...you're one good sheep! I think that this part of the devotional was written for me!! Yes God will always take care of us, yes God will listen when we pray...but am I always listening? Do I put complete trust in him at every second of every day? I must admit, sometimes I have my doubts or I have questions, but we always need to remember to look to God for guidance and always trust that what he has planned for us will be the best thing for us! Brittany's favorite thing about the Bible: I love how there are some stories that you think mean one thing but are talking about something more...(if that makes sense) If you really study some of the stories and scriptures, you'll see that there's something more besides what you read. Brittany's favorite theme or story: The story about the parting of the Red Sea. I love how the poeple of Israel were complaining to God about how much better off they would have been if they would've stayed in Egypt, and then God amazes them by parting the Red Sea in half for them to walk through! Brittany's favorite verse: Matthew 5:43-48 It talks about always loving your enemies even if they are rude and mean! |
